Whirliwigs and arch enemies

Whirliwigs have always had a way of making me smile as they helicopter to the ground. I stumbled on what was left of last season's and had a sudden urge to shake the tree and watch them all fly away.



Every year our yard hosts an array of new arch nemeses. These range from snakes to weeds with a plan to take over the world. However, the most damaging, annoying, and ugly arch nemesis in our yard is the mole. Our yard is full of sink holes because of his tunneling ways. If only Martha had an attention span and territorial instinct. :/

I'm very excited for our Easter adventures we have planned and for the Macy's Flower Show coming up next weekend!! I'm sure to take plenty of pics on both adventures, but until then, here's one of my beautiful babies waking up...
